Dubai is a fast-growing city with a diverse population that attracts many expatriates from all over the world. Although women have made great strides in recent years, working and living as a woman in Dubai can still present some challenges.

Conservative Clothing is desirable

Dubai is no longer too strict about dress codes, but women should still dress modestly in some places. In government buildings, for example, access is denied if a woman dresses too revealingly or wears a skirt where her legs are showing. For this, there are special areas for women and where waiting times are shorter.

Woman in Key Positions

As far as the workplace is concerned, women in Dubai have made significant progress in the last few decades. Today, women hold important positions in various industries such as finance, healthcare, education and hospitality. Many companies in Dubai are actively working to promote diversity and gender equality in the workplace and offer equal opportunities to both men and women.

Dominating Men Industries

However, there are still some industries and professions that are dominated by men, and women can face some challenges in these areas. For example, construction and engineering are industries traditionally dominated by men, and women may face some obstacles in securing a job in these fields.

Challenging Work and Family Life

Another challenge that women in Dubai may face is balancing work and family life. Many women in Dubai are working mothers and may find it difficult to balance work and family life. There are few companies in Dubai that offer part-time employment. Many mothers do not work at all, are self-employed and thus divide their working hours themselves, or work full-time and have a nanny to take care of the children.

Advantages for Women

Despite these challenges, there are many advantages to living and working in Dubai as a woman. The city offers a safe environment with a low crime rate and a high standard of living. Women in Dubai also have access to quality healthcare and education, and there are many opportunities for personal and professional development. In addition, there are women's sections in many waiting areas and in the metro.
